AUSTIN DANCE HUB PRESENTS

You're invited to apply for AUSTIN DANCE HUB PRESENTS!

What is it?:

​

A formal virtual showcase made up of local Austin dance artists coming together. The showcase will take place virtually on Jan 29th - 31st, 2021 culminating with an optional zoom group discussion among artists and the audience. While we can't come together physically we can still make art and continue conversations through our work at a distance.

​

What we're looking for?

​

Ideas, works-in-progress, fully formed works. Anything goes as long as it has ties to dance. Your work does not have to be finished to submit an application. After all, most of us are choreographing from our living rooms!

Solos or small groups that are distanced or dancers of the same household or quarantine pod are encouraged. Dance films are also welcome to apply!

Compensation:

​

  • Discounted rental rates at First Street Studio at $20/hr (this is the lowest rate they have!)

  • If you do not want to film yourself you will be provided with an assistant to film a 4K Video of your performance at First Street Studio - You will be filmed privately with black box stage lights. If you are not comfortable leaving your home to perform, submitting a video is great!

  • Stage Lighting for your performance if filming at FSS.

  • A virtual platform streamed on youtube, Instagram, & Facebook for the weekend of the performance.
